Chapter 48...Passing through El Paso

...We saw this while moving toward El Paso...Looks like a good subject for the stylings of Ms Georgia O'Keefe...

...Upon arriving in the El Paso area, we could look across the nearly dry Rio Grande and see Ciudad Juarez through a thick haze...

...Since we did not want to require the services of our incompetent State Department, we chose to remain on el norte side of the river...

...Upon reaching our RV Park in East El Paso, we met a very nice fellow named David who asked if we liked steaks.  We said yes, and he directed us to an old ranch called Indian Cliffs Ranch in Fabens, Texas.  They grow, butcher and age the beef right on the ranch and our new friend promised it would be the best beef we had ever tasted...We went there and he was right!!!

...The Cattleman's Steak House at Indian Cliffs Ranch...

...Leslie and Nina ready to dine...

...Inside the Steakhouse...

...Sunset at Indian Cliffs Ranch...

...Seated at Cattleman's Steakhouse...

...While we ate, we learned that the ranch had been utilized for filming several Hollywood action movies, including Courage Under Fire, Glory Road, and The Border...

...Many movie set pieces were still around the ranch...This appears to be an early Winnebago...

...After the delicious meal, we returned to the Beast determined to rise early the next day to cover the 575 miles to San Antonio, TX...

...We wanted to be on the San Antonio River Walk for a special occasion...The Commodorable's Birthday.
