Chapter 18. Load 'Em Up, Move 'Em Out

When you have a 45 foot Motorcoach, a 20 foot Jeep Commander, and a Mercedes SL what else is needed.  Oh come on, this is an easy one.  What's missing is a boat!!  So in addition to the aforementioned fleet elements, we add the family day boat, our 24 foot Hurricane.

Here, look....

The Commodorable looks so tiny when standing beside the Beast

Now,  you are no doubt wondering what form of magic will be employed by your ingenious Captain to get this parade 1200 miles south to Pelican Lake...

Here's the plan...

The Captain will drive the coach and tow the boat
The Commodorable will drive the Benz
Nina (remember her?) will drive the Jeep.
And regarding the Westies...you guessed wrong...they ride with their Mom...
The boys waiting for their Mom...

First Day...

Weather is great, the Beverly Hillbillies-like caravan pulls into a Cracker Barrell restaurant in Santee, SC.  The restaurant manager is wonderfully accommodating and invites us to stay the night in his parking lot.  We gladly accept his gracious offer.

The next day ends at Lazy Days in Tampa.  We stop early because someone is still in our new spot at Pelican Lake.  No worries.  To kill time, we three shop for a new coach.  The Commodorable fell in love with a new 2014 American Heritage.  (The Captain wouldn't have kicked it out of the garage either).  Negotiations were conducted.  Numbers edged closer to acceptable.  The Captain hesitates.  The Beast is perfect.  Everything works as it should.  The Captain has too little money, etc.

We depart early in the afternoon and get to Pelican Lake after a few hour drive.  Honestly, it's like a HOMECOMING!  We love it here.

The boys reconnoiter the perimeter of our new lake front site.  Ah, the sounds of Palm trees swaying in the warm breeze.

The clan is back in heaven...

While golf carting around, the Captain meets the handsomest pup.  His name is Jordy.  (Jordy's Dad, John is clearly a Green Bay Packers fan)

Now that we are back, we'll take it month by month...

November 2014 will be here in no time...
